Fall is one of the most beautiful times of year in Colorado, with the mountains ablaze in a riot of colors. And what better way to experience the beauty of the season than with a scenic drive through the mountains?

Every year on my birthday, my husband Steve takes me on a special drive through the mountains to witness the stunning fall colors. We wind our way through the scenic byways, stopping at overlooks and taking in the breathtaking views of golden aspens, fiery reds, and vibrant oranges.

Best Time for Fall Foliage in Colorado

The best months for fall foliage in Colorado are typically September and October. The exact timing and peak colors can vary depending on the location and elevation, as well as weather conditions. In general, the higher elevations will see the colors change earlier, while the lower elevations will see the colors change later. It's always a good idea to check local foliage reports and plan your trip accordingly.

There's something magical about the crisp autumn air, the rustling of leaves underfoot, and the stunning mountain scenery. It's a time to slow down, appreciate the beauty of nature, and make unforgettable memories.
